Tattoo Aftercare

Keep the bandage on for at least 3 hours, If your tattoo is wrapped with Second Skin (clear bandage) it can be left on for up to 4 days as long as it has not become compromised. Remove the bandage carefully in the shower. Gently wash your tattoo with clean hands and lukewarm water; don’t use a washcloth or anything abrasive. Use a liquid unscented soap to gently clean the tattoo until it is no longer slimy, it should feel squeaky clean. Air dry for a few minutes. Make sure your tattoo is completely dry before applying any ointment or lotion.

Wash your hands and apply a pea-sized amount of tattoo cream. After a couple of days when the tattoo has scabbed, you can switch to a clean fragrance-free lotion.

NEVER Re-bandage your tattoo, wear loose clothing, preferably cotton, and let it breathe as much as possible.

Always handle your new tattoo with clean hands and don’t let other people touch it.

Your tattoo will start to peel and itch, and the temptation to pick and scratch will be strong, don’t do it! You will ruin your tattoo. Itching can be relieved by applying more lotion or gently tapping the area. Use common sense, if it hurts, don’t do it.
